How Co-Sponsors React - A Case Study from Los Angeles

When we were presented with the opportunity to sponsor an NCBER Business Census for the Los Angeles area, we accepted immediately. Since we had seen the impressive work the parent organization ERISS had done for the Los Angeles Workforce Investment Boards, the decision was easy.

As Vice President of Investor Relations it has been my job along with our President and Chief Executive Officer, Lee Harrington, to garner the required co-sponsor support to start the project.

Along with NCBER representatives, we have now presented the project to a number of executives at the highest levels of the leading companies that represent our board and membership. The reception has been remarkable. Without exception they have been impressed with the presentation and the clear value proposition. All have expressed their appreciation for being offered the opportunity to gain access to the data from the census. As a result, we have quickly reached the requirements to get the census started.

At the same time, it has provided us with the occasion to revisit with long-time supporters as well as to cement relationships with important new members. This is the type of project that shows our investors that we are not only serious about effective economic development, but that we also have their individual interests at heart.
